Beach Getaway

We thought we'd have a short little family getaway to the beach for a couple days, so Monday late morning, we took off. First we headed to Corvallis to eat lunch at Pastini's - a yummy little Italian place that my sister works at, and also checked out her new place where she lives. Then we headed to Newport. We were going to go to the Undersea Gardens, but ran out of time. So we went and saw our friends - Ben, Ruth and Breanna, who just moved there about a month ago. They have a cute little place up on a hill with a beautiful ocean view. We went to the beach with them and had dinner, then headed to our "new house" as Hannah called it (our hotel). We got an AWESOME deal - about 1/2 price - we checked on Expedia and found what sounded like a good deal, David called to see what kind of room, the guy offered $10 less than Expedia's price. We got there and the guy told David he could do this suite for $20 more than the room he originally booked. Then David talked him into giving it to us for only $10 more than the original room...guess he learned something from hearing Dave Ramsey! :) It was at the Shilo in Newport - a little 2 bedroom suite w/ an ocean view. I couldn't have asked for better! It was nice to have the extra bedroom so Hannah could go to bed and Isaiah wouldn't keep her up with his evening round of fussiness. Tuesday, David let me sleep in (till 10 am - its been FOREVER since I've done that!), then we got breakfast and lounged till it was time to check out. We were going to try to hit the Aquarium, but it was really rainy so we didn't. We went to Lincoln City and shopped for a while, then headed for home. And of course just as we were heading for home, it started clearing up and the sun popped out. :( Oh well...it was a short, but nice little getaway. We forgot to take our camera on the beach when we went on Monday, so I don't have any pics of that, but here is one of Isaiah looking at his Daddy and some of Hannah proudly showing her "new house."
