"Mommy Date"

Hannah has a book called "Let's Go on a Mommy Date" and its one of her favorites. Its about a mom, her daughter and son that decide they are going on a Mommy date and start out going to the zoo, then if that didn't work out because the animals were sleeping, they'd try the park and if it rained, they'd go to the circus, etc, etc and if none of those things worked out they would just have time at home with the 3 of them, spending quality time together. Since she likes this book so much she is always talking about going on "Mommy dates", and seems like anytime we do an activity of some sort, we call it that.

So last Fri morning, my friend Lauren called us up (actually on Thurs she called) and invited us to the zoo with her and her daughter Bethany. So Hannah was excited to get a "Mommy date" to the zoo with me and Isaiah. Lauren was so kind to share her guest portion of her zoo membership with us, so that saved us quite a bit of money - the zoo has gotten spendy! Thank you, Lauren! Bethany is 19 months, and Hannah had a ball with her - asking her if she could say certain names of the animals and just running around and Bethany followed, enjoying Hannah too! Hannah had a BLAST and was so excited about each animal we saw. It was cooler weather that morning also, which made the animals more active. One of her favorites were the elephants - the mom, dad (I assume they were anyway) and the baby and they were going swimming. The other favorite was the leopard. I think this was because he was pacing back and forth right in front of the window where she and Bethany were standing. They could have reached out and touched it if it weren't for the glass. I attached a little video so you can see their excitement and what they did when it would go out of their sight. We also took our lunch and had a little picnic in the park there at the zoo. Usually they do a bird show around lunch time, but that day there was an evening concert, so it was cancelled. We headed home around 1:30ish and Hannah informed me on the way home how much she LOVED the zoo, and can't wait to go back again someday! :)
